New Digital Flood Insurance Rate Map (DFIRM) data are now available from RIGIS for Kent, Newport, and Washington Counties! Updated DFIRM data has also been posted for Providence County. With this posting, DFIRM data are now available from RIGIS for all counties in Rhode Island.
The DFIRM database consists of a compilation of datasets, tables, and documentation. For more information about the individual assets contained within a DFIRM database, please be sure to review the documentation that is packaged with each database. Another nice resource is FEMA's "Guidelines and Specifications for Flood Hazard Mapping Partners" which explains the various elements of a DFIRM database in greater detail, as well as this FEMA Digital Flood Mapping Products summary web page.
